Will SWIMS run on Windows VISTA operating system?
Yes, Windows Vista will support SWIMS. To avoid any complications we strongly recommend that you download the updated patches, and upgrades.
What type of report formats can I print from SWIMS?
In addition to generating a “paper” version of your report, you are also able to export or send your SWIMS reports as a *.pdf, *.txt and a*.xml file format.
SWIMS uses a component that will allow you to backup and specify the location of your data. Backing up your SWIMS data is easy to do whichever backup utilities you use i.e. backup CD, or memory stick. This practice will ensure that your data is secure.
Am I able to install SWIMS in a network environment?
Yes you are able to install SWIMS in a network environment, but before installation you must first ensure that your systems meet or exceeds all recommended requirements
What is Latitude / Longitude versus UTM?
Latitude-Longitude coordinates are referred to as the "geo grid" which is inputted in degrees and minutes. UTM- Universal Transverse Mercator are divided into zones and subdivided into eastern and western projections. SWIMS support both of these formats.
Why doesn’t my manufacturing link redirect itself to the manufacturer’s website as specified?
When you Cut & Paste the manufacturer’s website address the field is already formatted as a web link (http:// is hard-coded into the field). Simply leave out the “http://” field from the address while entering your manufacturing information in the web site field.
